Steam is the main distribution platform for PC software, and although it continues to add new features to its official client, the truth is, there are still some things missing. Steam Library Manager is a useful external tool that lets you move game installation folders and even save them on different physical drives. The best feature, though, is the ability to duplicate content to save backup files. This is especially useful when certain games take up more than 30 gigabytes and you don't have a decent Internet connection.
To use SLM, you don't need to have Steam open in the background. This way, you can see the list of your installed games and their locations. At the top of the screen, you can create new installation routes and move files by dragging and dropping them.
Besides all this, you can also validate the files to verify whether they are corrupt, see if you meet the minimum requirements for a game, or even uninstall a game from your library. It also includes a search engine to find games by name or ID. This, along with other technical features, makes Steam Library Manager a nearly essential tool for experienced PC gamers who have enormous game collections that continue to grow.
